Social Services Office Assistant III

Responsibilities: The Iredell County Department of Social Services is a public agency that provides a multitude of services to citizens of Iredell County and the Child and Adult Welfare area is to provide services to adults, children, and their families as mandated by the General Statutes of the North Carolina Juvenile Justice code and the Protective Services Manual of the Department of Human Resources. The primary purpose of the Office Assistant III is to provide support for the Paralegal II and Attorneys consisting of typing, filing, logging, and other such tasks.  This person also pulls criminal background checks, birth records, and court records for the DSS Legal Unit.  The Office Assistant III will file documents with the Clerk of Court and retrieve documents and records from the Clerk of Court. The Office Assistant III will be responsible for typing Notices of Hearing, Certificates of Service, and other routine or basic legal documents. This position is included in the rotation cover the front desk or switchboard when workers are absent and overage is needed.

 

Minimum Education and Experience:  Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through office assistant/secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license and a working vehicle.

 

Salary Range: $30,968.87 - $48,311.43 (Grade 319 C)
