Transit Planner

Under general supervision, performs public transit planning duties, including professional and technical planning work focusing on both short-range and long-range transit service planning, facilities planning, special projects planning, and assist with budget planning and forecasting.  Work includes federal and state grant development and management, contractor oversight, fixed and paratransit services evaluation and analysis, and coordination with other agencies, businesses, and jurisdictions regarding transportation, land use plans and transit impacts.  Assist with representing transit with various groups and agencies.  Employee must exercise considerable independent judgment in the performance of duties.  Employee must also exercise tact and courtesy in frequent contact with organizations, contractors, and the general public.  Reports to the Transportation Director.
